25.8.2026 | The 110th Cadet Course and the 93rd Midshipman Course graduate from the Bachelor of Military Sciences programme on 28 August 2026. The Supreme Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, President of the Republic Alexander Stubb will promote the 176 graduates to the rank of Lieutenant in the Presidential Palace's Hall of State. The graduation day with its traditional ceremonies will be a memorable event for the young officers.

11.6.2026 | The first UNMOC of 2026 is under way and the training is progressing as usual, but something is a bit different this time. There have been cameras and microphones in classrooms, exercise grounds, and patrol cars, recording the students’ every move and – most importantly – every word. These recordings are being made for research purposes and will be used as data for analysing the students’ teamwork and communication during the various activities on the course.

10.3.2026 | The National Defence University and the Finnish Society of Military Sciences will organise a Seminar of Military Sciences on 4-5 November 2026. The theme of the seminar this year is The world order is undergoing change - what should be the focus of the military sciences right now? This is an opening of discussion on topical military scientific and closely related phenomena and themes from the perspectives of research, teaching and working as an officer.
