Professors and Assistant Professors
Professors of the National Defence University (NDU) lead research in the chair they are holding and are in charge of implementing teaching together with other instructors in their departments. The National Defence University also has Military Professors who besides their academic duties are officers with military tasks.
The Research Director of the National Defence University oversees and guides research activities, ensuring they align with the NDU strategy and the Finnish Defence Forces’ research and development strategy. It is also the Research Director’s responsibility to make sure that administrative matters related to projects are in order and the resources allocated to them are reasonable and efficient.
