27.5.2026 | The fourth annual NATO Senior Leader Seminar (SLS) took place in Brussels from 14–16 April 2026, bringing together senior military and civilian leaders from across the Alliance. Building on the foundations laid in previous years, the seminar focused on adapting NATO’s Comprehensive Approach (CA) and Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) to the evolving security landscape, with particular emphasis on the challenges posed by developments in Europe and the Middle East.

25.6.2025 | At the beginning of June, the Finnish Defence Language Centre / Finnish National Defence University has assumed the chairmanship of the NATO Bureau for International Language Co-ordination (BILC) for the three-year period 2025-2028. The organization is chaired by the Head of the Language Training Branch of the Defence Language Centre, M.Soc.Sc. Laura Murto.

28.4.2026 | Sotatieteiden maisteritutkintoon kuuluvalla Tactical Level Planning -opintojaksolla simuloidaan monikansallisen joukon toimintaa. Tänä vuonna mukana oli ensi kertaa suomalaisten maisteriopiskelijoiden lisäksi virolaisia opiskelijoita ja isobritannialaisia tarkkailijoita.

25.6.2025 | Försvarsmaktens språkcenter / Försvarshögskolan har i början av juni emottagit ordförandeskapet vid Natos Bureau for International Language Co-ordinationin (BILC) för en treårsperiod 2025-2028. Som ordförande vid organisationen verkar sektorchef pol.mag. Laura Murto vid Försvarsmaktens språkcenter.

10.5.2024 | Finland’s NATO membership contributes to the officer’s career becoming more international in nature, and international activities will be an increasingly central part of the Master of Military Sciences Degree as well. At the same time, the requirements set by NATO lend themselves to making the officer’s career and education increasingly versatile.

10.5.2024 | Suomen Nato-jäsenyys luo uusia edellytyksiä upseerin uran kansainvälisemmälle luonteelle ja kansainvälinen toiminta on tulevaisuudessa yhä keskeisempi osa myös sotatieteiden maisterin tutkintoa. Samanaikaisesti Naton asettamat vaatimukset ovat omiaan muokkaamaan upseerin uraa ja koulutusta yhä monipuolisempaan muotoon.

10.5.2024 | Finlands Nato-medlemskap skapar nya förutsättningar för en mer internationell prägel i officerskarriären och den internationella verksamheten utgör i framtiden också en allt mer central del av magisterexamen i militärvetenskaper.
