NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation visits Finland

General Philippe Lavigne, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, which directs NATO training and change, will visit Finland. The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will host the visit. In connection with the visit, General Lavigne will open an Accession & Integration Working Group (AIWG) in Helsinki on 19.9.2022. General Kivinen and General Lavigne discussed the whole of NATO accession.

The working meeting is part of the military coordination between NATO's military structures and the Finnish Defence Forces, which is part of the accession process. In the case of the Finnish Defence Forces, the Defence Command Finland is responsible for organising the meeting and, on the part of NATO, Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, HQ SACT.   

During his visit, General Lavigne will also meet Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.
